6 Habits For A Healthy Spring

Spring has finally sprung and it’s a great time to freshen up your habits and start anew. From destressing to tossing expired meds, these little tweaks are great reminders to refresh your habits!

Breathe In, Breathe Out

  • Deep breathing can reduce stress levels almost immediately and can even boost your immune system. Take a few minutes every day to simply observe your breath. Even better? Schedule in meditation or quiet time. Your body, mind and spirit will thank you!

Eat Right

  • Choose in-season, local produce, and focus on eating REAL food. See my Spring list here of in-season veggies……

Get Moving!

  • Take advantage of some extra sunlight and nicer weather to find some time to fit movement into your busy day!

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

  • There is one nutrient that you may not even realize you are lacking: Water. Just plain H2O is vital to all body systems and every cell in your body.

Get Your ZZZs

  • Develop a sleep ritual and stick to it.

De-clutter

  • Clean out your medicine cabinet! The expiration date is your best guidance for the potency of a medicine, but if you’re unsure, toss it if it smells bad or looks off-color. While you’re at it, purge any old makeup or cosmetics too!

If you really want to make a change in your lifestyle, experts say that it takes at least 30 days to turn a behavior into a habit. Stick to one of these new healthy renewal habits for at least a month to give it a good shot of lasting!
